Shared description
Telephone House, Kingston upon Hull
The foundation stone for Telephone House, Nos.35-37 Carr Lane, was laid 18 September 1961, and the building was formally opened on 23 October 1964. Built for Hull Corporation Telephone Department, it replaced the former headquarters at Nos.7 to 11 Wincolmlee (formerly the Trippett Street Baths, 1850 to 1903), closed the same year and demolished in the 1970s.
