Sewer repair on Morris Lane, Kirkstall

The Yorkshire Post reported on 12 October 2024 that a sinkhole had appeared on Morris Lane due to a collapsed sewer 7.5 metres below the road. The road, a busy through route, was closed and traffic diverted via the A65. An unofficial diversionary route via Queenswood Drive also led to considerable congestion.

Work was anticipated to last ten weeks (i.e. until Christmas 2024) but as of mid-February 2025 engineering work was still in progress and not looking like finishing any time soon.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
