Fochabers Street Names
What is now the High Street was originally called Gordon Street between West Street and the Square, Maxwell Street between the Square and Westmorland Street, and Huntly Street between Westmorland Street and East Street.
The present Gordon Street was Gordon Lane.
What is now Maxwell Street was called Maxwell Lane between the Square and Westmorland Street, and Huntly Lane between Westmorland Street and East Street.
Castle Street and South Street were originally Castle Row and South Row respectively.
Spey Street was George Lane, and Institution Road was Charlotte Lane between the Square and Westmorland Street, and Westmorland Lane between Westmorland Street and East Street.
