Old Town Conservation Area, Kingston upon Hull

The city’s long and significant historical importance is best experienced in the Old Town,
the core of modern Kingston upon Hull. This conservation area covers approximately 54 hectares (133 acres) and contains 190 statutory listed buildings. Many of its unlisted buildings (non-designated heritage assets) also have historic and townscape value.

The extent of the Conservation Area is defined here: LinkExternal link It includes the medieval former walled town, Dock Office Row, Queen Victoria Square: City Hall, Ferens Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, Savile Street (east side), Vernon Street, New Cross Street, Queen’s Dock Avenue, No.6 Warehouse, Humber Dock, Humber Dock Basin, Railway Dock, Trinity Burial Ground (Castle Street), all land between Humber Street and the Humber Estuary.
