Andy Goldsworthy: Fifty Years
Andy Goldsworthy OBE [1956- ] is a renowned international sculptor and photographer who works with natural materials – stone, clay, plants, snow and ice. He was born in Cheshire, worked his way through Cumbria and Yorkshire and has been based in Dumfriesshire for the last 40 years. Many of his works are ephemeral but persist as a high-quality photographic record; others can be found in the landscape in the UK and many other international locations.
This exhibition, at the Scottish National Gallery [but physically in the adjacent Royal Scottish Academy], spans 50 years of his work from his student days to new works made especially for this exhibition. It occupies most of the building, closes on 2 November 2025, is fascinating and not to be missed. Link
