Corrigall Farm Museum
The museum comprises a group of farm buildings and the farmhouse. Dating originally from the C18th with major additions from the following century.
The site was identified as a fine example of an Orcadian farm steading in the 1960s by County Librarian, Evan MacGillvray, along with folklorist and historian, Ernest Marwick.
It was decided that the restoration should focus on its appearance in the C19th (rather than going back to its original C18th layout) so that there would be no requirement for demolition of later features such as internal walls.
The actual location of the farm is Midhouse of Harray, but as there is more than one ‘Midhouse’ in Harray the name was changed to Corrigall, which was the name of the family who had lived in the house as well as being the name of the district in which it stands.
Unfortunately at present [2025] the museum is currently closed due to "pressure on resources".
