The Beatles Statue
If you have a closer look at the figures you may spot some symbolism. You will see Paul is holding a camera in his left hand, this is a tribute to his wife, Linda who was a photographer. There is an acknowledgement of George’s interest in Indian culture. Have a look at the belt George is wearing and you’ll see it has a Sanskrit inscription, this translates as "The Infinite Beyond Conception, we meditate upon that Light of Wisdom, which is the Supreme Wealth of the Gods. May it grant us to increase in our meditation". On the sole of Ringo’s right shoe ‘L8’ appears on an attached label, this is a reference to the post code of the area of Liverpool where he grew up. In the right hand of John are two acorns; they were cast from acorns collected in New York, near the Dakota building where he lived and was murdered in 1980. John posted acorns to world leaders, as messages of peace.
