Art galleries

Art galleries serve a vital role in society by acting as custodians of culture, platforms for artistic growth, and catalysts for economic activity. They facilitate the bridge between artists and the public, allowing for the discovery of new talent and the preservation of artistic history. Indeed I recall my first visit to a major gallery and queueing, peering over people's shoulders to get a glimpse at the "Pile of Bricks". Now I know that there are Blue-chip galleries which handle art at the most expensive end of the market; Project Spaces that are focused on experimentation and short-term exhibitions; and Artist-run Venues are managed directly by artists selling their own work.
