Deptford Creek Bridge

The lift bridge on Creek Road (the A200 from London to Greenwich) crosses the tidal creek of the River Ravensbourne. It was built c.1954 to replace an earlier structure. As of 2015 it was still being lifted regularly at high tide for boatloads of aggregates to reach the adjacent concrete batching plant.

See also Deptford Creek Footbridge for the swing bridge opened downstream in 2015.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
