The Royal Exchange

The Royal exchange was founded by Sir Thomas Gresham in 1565 as a centre for commerce and trading. The original building was destroyed in the Great fire of London and the second building also burnt down. The present building was opened by Queen Victoria in 1841. trading ceased in 1939. It is now a luxury shopping centre. Grade I listed. LinkExternal link
