Garshake Corn Mill

The mill stood on the east side of the Garshake Burn, which powered it; its ruins are visible just downstream of a bridge over the burn. It is labelled "T. Mill" on the first-edition OS map (1860), "Corn Mill" on the second-edition map (c.1898), and "Corn Mill (disused)" on the 1918 map revision. Legal proceedings from 1904 mention "the Old Corn Mill on the east side of Garshake Burn", the "Old" perhaps indicating that the mill was by then disused.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
