Hornfair Park, Charlton
This park of approximately 8 hectares area between Charlton Village and Shooters Hill Road was created from part of the grounds of the old manor of Charlton, and was opened in 1935.
The Horn Fair was historically a riotous carnival held on the patronal festival day of the village church (St Luke - 18 October) since the 13th century. It was banned in 1874 when things got out of hand. See Link
