St Augustine's church, South Croydon

This Anglican church on St Augustine's Avenue was built in 1881-4 in imitation of the medieval "decorated" style. The architect was John Oldrid Scott. The walls are of flint and stone. It has a prominent central tower. Internally it was reordered in the 1980s to provide community facilities at the west end and a residual worship area at the east end.

The church is listed grade 2* (List entry no. 1079301).

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.
