Ideford Common

Ideford Common is a 43ha remnant, designated a site of special scientific interest, of the former extensive heathlands across the Haldon Hills, much of which is now afforested: were it not for continuing management, the common too would quickly progress to deciduous woodland. Most of the common was leased by the Clifford Estate to Teignbridge District Council in 1993: before then, the heath was used for stock car racing. The west end of the common is occupied by a gypsy encampment (and apparently excluded from the lease). Two public bridleways cross the common.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
