Blue Lake :: Shared Description

Blue Lake is a small reservoir built in 1880 for JW Pease to supply water for hydraulic machinery at the nearby Home Farm. The turbines were installed to power a joinery and barn machinery and were installed in 1881 and remained in use until the 1950s. The Pease family were ironmasters and the developers of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.
