WWII remains at Kilmalid

The structures at Kilmalid are associated with a Second World War Anti-Aircraft Battery; see LinkExternal link for Canmore's description of the site; that article includes aerial photographs of the gun emplacements, taken before they were cleared away during the construction of a roundabout. Remains (mostly hut bases) of the associated accommodation camp extended in an arc from about NS 3991 7694 to about NS 4405 7705, but they were later cleared to make way for a manufacturing plant (opened in 2012); see LinkExternal link for a map of the WWII remains that were visible when I visited.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
