St Luke's church, Matfield
Grade II listed.
Built in 1876 as a chapel of ease to Brenchley church. It is a mixture of Decorated and early English styles.
The church cost £2000 to build.
There is a nave, chancel, three bay South aisle, north-west porch and south east organ chamber. There is a west end bell turret with a broach spire. There is one Bell.
The north wall of the chancel has a statue of Saint Luke. The north West porch is a timber frame structure on a stone base. The tall timber outer doorway has a deep hollow moulding.
At the west end of the nave there are four wooden posts encased in panelling which support the belfry.
The church seats approximately 230 people.
