London Overground - Peckham link
A new section of railway line was laid in 2012 to link the former East London Line (now part of the London Overground network) at Surrey Quays, with the existing South London Line. It uses a former rail trackbed that had more recently been a foot- and cycle path, and a short section of new alignment at the southern end. A new path was laid alongside the line on completion, and opened in January 2013.
When services started over the new line on 9 December 2012, the existing (London Bridge to Victoria service on the South London Line ceased, replaced by four trains an hour from Highbury and Islington to Clapham Junction.
