Ciudad de Cadiz - Airbus onboard

The Ciudad de Cadiz, registered in Marseille, is one of three ships that transport the Airbus A380 wings from Flintshire to the assembly plant in Toulouse in France. It is reported that the ship slipped its moorings at Mostyn Docks on Wednesday 30th January 2013 and drifted onto one of the extensive sandbanks in the Dee estuary. Several attempts have been made to refloat it, but as the tides were reducing in height it has been decided to leave it where it is until Saturday 9th February when the height of the tides will increase again. It is also reported that the ship is in no danger on the soft sands and that there is no risk of pollution.
