Hillsborough Oaks

Ninety-six oak trees were planted in this wood in 1996 in memory of those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough Stadium tragedy of 15 April 1989.

The memorial was officially unveiled on 29 September 2000 by Councillor James Keight OBE JP, Leader of Knowsley MBC.

The young woodland also contains a meadowland habitat and a small pond.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
