Shared description
Beverley Minster
Although it is as large and historic as most cathedrals (more so than some), the Minster only has the status of an Anglican parish church. It is grade 1 listed (list entry number 1084028).
The Minster has origins in the 8th century but the present building was started in the 13th. It has its own local saint - John of Beverley, who founded a monastery locally around 700 AD and whose bones still lie beneath a plaque in the nave. Full description and history on Wikipedia at
