Espedair Street :: Shared Description

Espedair Street is the name of a 1987 novel by the late Scottish writer Iain Banks (1954 – 2013). Many of the events in the story took place here and on nearby Causeyside Street.

The name Espedair is derived from old Britannic and Gaelic words meaning “Riverside Oak Tree”, and relates to the Espedair Burn that runs through south Paisley.
