Former "Botanic Lodge" guest house, Belfast
Three former houses, at the corner of Botanic Avenue and Mount Charles, converted into a guest house. Now disused, the properties have the following planning permission: “Z/2008/2071/F 87 - 91 Botanic Avenue, Belfast, BT7 1JN Conversion of guest house to 2 retail units on the ground floor and 23 self-catering studios/apartments above accessed via No.89” (20 May 2009).
Subsequently amended “Proposed change of use from guest house to 2No Cafe/retail units on the ground floor with 14No Apartments above accessed via existing entrance fronting Botanic Ave. Alterations to include replacement of defective structural areas and extensions to rear of property”.
The photographs submitted by me appear as a matter of geographical and historical record only. I have no connection with any of the parties involved in the proposed development.
It was one of the very, very few which provided accommodation, close to the city centre, for visitors, during “the Troubles” in the 1970’s.
A disguise was applied to the derelict building during March/April 2015.
