This street was constructed in 1955 along with the rest of the Hillside development in the typical 1950s fashion - much more austere than the extravagant pre-war developments in other parts of Stranmillis and Malone. Despite this, the Hillside development remains a very desirable area.

Amongst its first residents were a number of office clerks, civil servants, grocers and lecturers.
