Warwickshire Avon, November 2012 :: Shared Description

Heavy rain fell on the 21st, see SP2965 : Big puddle, St Nicholas Park, and probably on the 20th. The Avon below its confluence with the Leam broke its banks in Warwick on the 22nd. Continuing rain maintained high levels on the 23rd SP2556 : Floods in Charlecote Park. The river subsided somewhat on the 24th and levels were maintained into the 25th. There must have been further heavy rain on the 24th and 25th because the river reached an even higher level on the 26th. Lower-lying parts of St Nicholas Park were flooded. The River Leam was still in spate on the 27th. By the 29th levels had fallen though rivers were still high: for example, at Charlecote SP2556 : Confluence of Dene and Avon.
